Bonita Jackson, Founder
Get HealthEd Foundation was founded by Bonita Jackson, whose original name was Pearls Continual Outreach. Ms. Jackson is a native of Memphis, TN, and a mother. It was in her native city where she first encountered watching someone close to her having issues with getting their insurance to cover their medications and being told they would have to pay a substantial amount out of pocket. While that person was her grandmother, Willie Peal Butler, a well-known activist in her community during her life that assisted others with their welfare rights. At that very moment, Ms.Jackson knew that something needed to be in place for individuals with Medicare and Medicaid within the communities that could teach everyone the importance of their plans and the terminology to use when seeking answers. After assisting her grandmother with her health benefits, she then began helping anyone who needed assistance with understanding their plan or helps with receiving the assistance.
The passion for helping ignited in her giving the striving for learning more about healthcare pushed Ms.Jackson to continue her education in professional health. Allowing her the opportunities to work for companies that taught hands-on learning about multiple health plans whether in a medical office or call center setting. After taking a leap of faith and moving to Florida all the doors began to open for her and she was able to turn her dream into a reality through the mentor of the Veteran of Chambers and Beacon 4sight Group.
